Today at Inprosec Human Capital we introduce you to Sergia Lagoa, responsible for quality in the execution of projects, manager of Strategic Security and RPGD projects.

What is your function within Inprosec?

I perform various functions such as the management of projects related to Strategic Security and RPGD, although I am also involved in strategic internal projects of the company. In addition to that, I am responsible for Quality in the execution of Projects.

What would you highlight about your role in the company?

What I would highlight about my job is the possibility of being able to get involved in different projects and tasks, which makes the day-to-day life a continuous learning experience and breaks the routine that I try to escape from whenever I can. I consider that one of the most important things that a job should offer you is motivation, and being able to work in this way is very satisfying for me.

What has Inprosec meant to your professional career?

In my professional career it has been a before and after, not only has it allowed me to train in a sector such as Industrial Cybersecurity, but I have also been able to develop new skills and improve others that I already had. I also learned what it means to organize and plan the work to get the most out of the day and to work with a very high standard of quality, since by the functions that I perform, a minimum error can affect many important factors of the company.

How do you manage to reconcile your personal and professional life?

The flexibility options we have within the work schedule make it very easy and simple to reconcile work and personal life. The possibility of teleworking is also a highlight, especially now, in the midst of the pandemic.

Tell us an anecdote that has caught your attention at some stage in Inprosec.

I was very struck by the fast growth of the company in terms of resources, when I joined we were about 25 people and has not stopped entering people since then to almost double the amount, especially considering the situation we are living. In addition, having joined in the middle of the pandemic with all the restrictions that existed at that time, I have not yet met a large part of the staff in person, so we only have contact virtually and it is a somewhat curious situation.

What do you value most about working for a company like Inprosec?

First of all, without a doubt, the good working environment in the company, both in the office (with the few people who currently attend) and virtually. Thanks to my position I have the possibility to talk with many people of the company in my day to day, and they are always willing to contribute or help in everything necessary from the first moment. The second very important point is also the training we receive, they are always betting on the continuous improvement and development of all their resources.

As an employee of a company that specializes in cybersecurity, what is your advice to any entrepreneur who is starting out with respect to their systems?

The training of people is undoubtedly one of the most relevant factors in terms of security, since lack of knowledge can lead, in many cases, to serious security incidents. It is very necessary that all the workers of the company know the importance of complying with certain policies and practices for the security of your company and thus avoid situations that can be difficult to solve.

What are your hobbies at the end of the working day?

Although today all my hobbies have been compromised by the pandemic, I love to travel and see new places, enjoy live music both in concerts and festivals, spend time with my friends and gastronomy in general, such as cooking something different or discovering a new restaurant. I’m also a big fan of sports, like boxing, but since it’s considered high contact and current restrictions don’t allow it, I’ve had to switch to paddle tennis, which isn’t so bad either.

Who do you “nominate” to interview next and why?

I nominate Martín Castro Calvo who I am sure has interesting details about his work in the SAP Area.
