Today at Inprosec Human Capital we present Roi Fortes Caramés, a member of our Management Committee and of our commercial area.

What is your function within Inprosec and what would you highlight as positive about it?

I am mainly in charge of attracting and retaining customers who work with SAP as an ERP. As part of the Management Committee, I also participate mainly in decisions affecting the commercial area of which I am a member. What I like most about my work is the way I deal with people, because it allows me to know their businesses better and to be able to provide solutions to those problems where, due to our specialization and experience, we can solve.

What has Inprosec meant to your professional career?

It has been an important professional leap because after many years in the Telco sector it has allowed me to enter the world of consultancy which is very interesting because it has allowed me to evolve as a professional towards a purely consultative sale and to learn many things that I did not know. The cybersecurity industry is constantly evolving and as someone who likes challenges and learning new things, I feel very comfortable.

How do you manage to reconcile your personal and professional life?

At Inprosec we have always worked by objectives and although logically we all have schedules to meet, there is flexibility when it comes to working from home or having certain days throughout the year to resolve personal issues. Since the very day the state of alarm was declared, we have all been teleworking from our homes and I think that following the Covid-19 pandemic situation, many companies in Spain will have to rethink its way of working, which from my point of view is too prescriptive and not very goal-oriented.

Tell us an anecdote that has drawn your attention to a situation at one stage in Inprosec.

When I started working at Inprosec in 2013, I used to visit my contacts in companies to talk to them about information security. They all told me that it was not an issue that concerned them and that they had other priorities. It was only when I met someone who had suffered an incident that they were receptive to talking about their information security concerns. News such as the WannaCry in May 2017, which made us break our record of accepted proposals or the obligation to adapt to the RGPD since May 2018, has contributed to make more and more people aware of the importance of taking measures related to the improvement of their information security.

What do you value most about working for a company like Inprosec?

I would highlight above all the good working environment we have and the ability to reconcile my personal life by having two children. In addition, we are grateful that the company’s management listens to everyone’s opinions and takes them into account when it comes to continuing to make progress on the continuous improvement that is so deeply rooted in the company.

As an employee of a company that specializes in cybersecurity, what is your advice to any entrepreneur who is starting out with respect to their systems?

Today, the information of any company is critical to maintain its proper functioning, so I would recommend starting with a risk analysis that allows you to make decisions based on data faithful to the reality of your company. If you don’t know what your main problems are and what you are exposed to, you will hardly be able to solve them.

What are your hobbies at the end of the working day?

I love to play sports like squash or paddle and to play with my kids.

Who do you “nominate” to interview next and why?

I would like Jenifer to be interviewed so that she can give us more information about everything she does and in recognition of the great work she does, having been chosen by her colleagues as an example to follow.
