SAP Solution Manager is the standard platform for Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) which includes four specific tools that improves the security of the SAP systems:

- System Recommendations provides a detailed recommendation of SAP notes which should be implemented, based on the actual status of the system.
- The Security Optimization service is designed to verify and improve the security of the SAP systems by identifying potential security issues and giving recommendations on how to improve the security of the system.
- Configuration validation determines whether the systems in your landscape are configured consistently and in accordance with your requirements by comparing them with a reference system.
